Tom's Story
Drafted in '68. Enlisted in the Marine Corps instead & became an Avionics Technician. Commissioned in '73 & became a Grunt. Completed college & got married in my spare time. Went to Viet-Nam and several other exotic places that God forgot. Served several tours in the Infantry and Reconnaissance. Completed U.S. Navy SCUBA dive school training. Last tour in the Corps was assisting in a major counter-narcotics effort in Colombia which resulted in a one metric ton bust of pure coke. That took me to doing similar things in West Africa.
Have three great sons & a wonderful wife who hasn't fired me yet. Oldest son is deeply into Martial Arts, Second son...Expand for more
's was a Recon Marine who served in Afghanistan & was meritoriously promoted in combat. He is now out, married and back in College. Third son recently graduated fom college with a degree in Geography/GIS. He is big into Rugby.
I'm working for the Marine Corps as a civilian and still doing strange & exotic things for our country and wisely spending your tax dollars. No, I do not work for GSA or go to Las vegas for conventions. Currently continuing my education in Acquisition Logistics & Program Management. Retiring from Government Service in 2014. Enjoy long range black powder shooting, hunting & fishing. Loving life living in the Old Dominion State.
